In today's economy, anytime a company can save money or reduce their overhead, it's agood thing.
This job takes place at a under a bank, in a historic 5 story building.
The project was to move and/or rotate staff from multiple offices at the same time, while installing new data and phone lines. The objective was that after this move, we'd go from 3.5 office to 2 office.
There would still be the other 3 offices on that floor, but we'd be able to return 1.5 offices and there by reduce the month to month overhead.

This was schedule so that as the staff left on a Friday, now to be fair they did leave early, around 2: pm, between then and Monday, we ran 30 lines of phone and data, moved the telecom trunk to the correct office. This required boring thru 3 different fire block walls and setting up new 66 blocks, both for incoming trunk lines and phone ext. lines, then the data lines to the existing wall mounted IEEE patch panel system. Requireing the rerouting of the telecom trunk lines from one office to another, while keeping down time to a minimum.

Then we rearranged the different lan lines based on which segment each office would run on, this floor of the office, runs on 2 different datacom back bones, which run down from the upper floors of the building. So the work stations and data lines had to be arranged to the proper data segments, then the work stations had to have their ip's altered to insure correct ssgementation and gateways was assigned.
Then the correct proxy devices had to be assisnged to match the segment.
We use proxies systems per office and floor to reduce redundant traffic on the back bones lines.

Once we had the data lines, and telecom trunk moved, it was then just a matter of reconnecting the phones to the correct 66 block. These were Norstar phones on a Nortel system.

Because we partner with Winn Law Group, they were able to, thru a single phone call, move over 30 users, 24 plus computers, phones, fax lines network copiers and printers in a timely fashion, while controlling the possible damage to equipment that is common to moves of this nature.
